A recent political ad approved by Senator John McCain compares Senator Barack Obama to, among others, Britney Spears.
He's the biggest celebrity in the world...but is he ready to lead?
Truth be told, the video could have been perfectly acceptable, challenging Obama on his positions related to offshore drilling and taxes. However, did the McCain camp need to use flashing photos of Britney Spears and Paris Hilton to compare and contrast the two candidates? Sure, the intro presupposes that "He's the biggest celebrity in the world," but to try to draw parallels to Britney Spears is ridiculous.
Republicans are easily offended when Democrats disgustingly invoke images of Hitler when talking about President Bush, so we think the Republican party would be well-served not responding in kind. Two wrongs do not make a right.
