| Is Sarah Palin a "Pig?" |
During her Republican National Committee speech last week, Gov. Sarah Palin metaphorically joked about her toughness and brought the crowd to their feet in roaring applause:
"You know the difference between a hockey mom and a pitbull? Lipstick!" Likewise, Senator Obama invoked the same farm animal when he went on the attack today during a rally in Lebanon, Virginia: "You can put lipstick on a pig," Obama declared. "It's still a pig." While there was no direct mention of Palin, the audience roared and jumped to its feet in a similar fashion. If Barack Obama wasn't thinking about the joke Sarah Palin told about lipstick and hockey moms at the Republican National Convention last week, the crowd certainly was...laughing and clapping before he even finished the attack. ABC called Obama's attack "his most scathing attach on his Republican White House rivals..." America deserves better, Mr. Obama. You know what you were doing and it appears American women know what you were doing, too. According to the Washington Post, white women shifted from an eight-point pre-convention edge for Obama to a 12-point McCain advantage now. Your "Karl Rove tactics" that you have decided to use, Mr. Obama, have faciliated a 20-point swing in the polls. That's not lipstick, Mr. Obama, that's change you can believe in.
