| Barack Obama "Savaged" Opponents? |
We found an interesting AFP (Agence France-Presse) article that suggested Barack Obama was out on the campaign trail 'savaging' his opponents, not quite the news we at StopTheAttacks.org want to hear:
FLINT, Michigan (AFP) - Democrat Barack Obama savaged his White House opponents John McCain and Sarah Palin as hypocrites who were trying to hoodwink US voters with a late conversion to the mantra of change. "And when John McCain with a straight face says 'I'm going to change things,' at the same time as he says he's agreed with (President) George Bush 90 percent of the time, you know it's pretty hard to believe." Obama mocked the McCain-Palin platform in summary: "Except for economic policy, tax policy, healthcare policy, education policy, foreign policy and Karl Rove politics, we're really going to shake things up in Washington." Well, Mr. Obama, who exactly are you trying to impress with rhetoric like that? Do you think invoking the "K"[arl Rove] word helps you win over people right-of-center? Who exactly is playing "Karl Rove politics?" You are doing nothing more than throwing spoiled red meat to the pitpulls on the fringe; do you think this talk impresses most Americans, Senator? This political gibberish may earn you a standing ovation at your San Francisco fundraisers, but the good Americans in Flint, Michigan deserve better.
"And they fell through the Clinton Administration, and the Bush Administration, and each successive administration has said that somehow these communities are gonna regenerate and they have not. And it's not surprising then they [the voters in Pennsylvania] get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations." Have you seen the latest Gallup Poll out today, Senator? You might want to call off the dogs and start discussing the issues; Americans deserve better, sir.
