| Team Obama Attacks Gov. Sarah Palin |
The Barack Obama campaign wasted no time attacking Gov. Sarah Palin moments after she was announced to be Sen. John McCain's running mate; before she had even left the podium accepting the VP position, Team Obama, in an attempt to get out in front of the story, decided to go on the offensive. Here's what Bill Burton, a spokesman for Barack Obama, thought about small-town America and Gov. Sarah Palin's experience: Today, John McCain put the former mayor of a small town of 9,000 with zero foreign policy experience a heartbeat away from the presidency,” said Bill Burton, a spokesman for Democratic nominee Sen. Barack Obama (Ill.). “Gov. Palin shares John McCain’s commitment to overturning Roe v. Wade, the agenda of Big Oil and continuing George Bush’s failed economic policies — that’s not the change we need, it's just more of the same. What's wrong with small towns of 9,000 Americans or fewer? A mayor is an executive, right? Does Barack Obama have any executive experience? So perhaps this point is moot? Why insult Americans from small towns? I come from a small town and don't appreciate the quip, much like Sen. Obama probably doesn't appreciate us using a picture of him smoking for this piece. See our point? Why, then, did Team Obama decide to play the 'size matters' card? Did not hear that she was a mayor and now serves as the governor of Alaska, responsible for more than 670,000 Americans? Did they not know that she was "The most popular governor in America" at one point, enjoying a more than 80% approval rating? But why stop there? “Sarah Palin is inexperienced, unethical, and wrong on all the issues that Americans care about,” said Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Fla.) on MSNBC. “Do we have confidence that if, God forbid, something happened to John McCain that Sarah Palin is going to know what to do and is going to have her hand on the tiller of America's foreign policy? What makes her ready to be commander in chief?” Wow, that's a mouthful - "inexperienced, unethical, and wrong on all the issues." According to Debbie's homepage, she's been in the House of Representatives for a whole 3 years now. I would have to do the math to calculate how many "heartbeats she is away from the presidency,' but suffice it to say that her political resume is quite thin, having no mention of executive experience.
Why, then, did Debbie feel a need to launch such a vicious attack on someone? Pot vs. Kettle? But why stop there?
“There has been a culture of corruption [in] Alaska. Sen. Ted Stevens, Congressman Don Young, Gov. Sarah Palin — they are all cut from the same cloth,” Wasserman Schultz stated. Nice, Debbie, very nice. Floridians must be real proud of you. Believe it or not, they deserve better, Debbie. You and Mr. Burton appear to be "cut from the same cloth," insofar as you both decided to take the path most traveled and personally attack a fellow American.
Good job, Debbie. Good job. Trackback(0)

I think it's called irony, Johnny - ironical that one person who has only authored 'swimming pool filter' legislation during her short tenure in government should not throw chlorine.

Precisely, John (Galt).
We do not criticize pundits like Bill O'Reilly or Keith Olbermann, as these guys are pundits/commentators (I use these terms loosely). We do not go after private citizens, as every citizen enjoys freedom of speech, which should be excercised and encouraged. We do, not, however, enjoy paying the salaries of junior Congresswomen just so they can sit in Washington and play ad hominem politics. That was the point. Perhaps we did not make this clear, so thanks to both of you. We'll try to do better next time. written by Casey Brown-Myers, September 08, 2008
The libs are looking for anything and grasping for straws. They are scared to death of VP Palin. Republican's have the first black Sec of State, first hispanic AG, First black woman Sec of State, first woman appointed to supreme court and now the first woman to be Vice-President of the United States. The liberals talk change and the Republicans implement change with "qualified" diversity in top positions in government.

...lest we forget who gave Barack Obama the right to vote, too. It was neither Senator Byrd, his KKK friends in West Virginia, nor the Democrats.
So much for that so-called "big tent" cosmopolitan view present-day Democract charltons are trying to peddle like magic elixir. written by Casey Brown-Myers, September 11, 2008
It is kind of funny that the libs attempt to take credit for civil rights when is was the Democraitic party that was behind the Jim Crow laws. It was the Democratic party that held up the civil rights agenda. AL Gore Sr. and LBJ were 2 of three Southern Democrats that would not sign the Southern Manifesto in 1956.
