Well, it seems we were not alone in viewing the most recent pig SNAFU as a personal attack aimed squarely at John McCain's running mate Gov. Sarah Palin.

Team McCain wasted no time firing back with a video using the tagline: "Ready to Lead? No. Ready to Smear? Yes."

The video begins with "Sarah Palin on: Sarah Palin" and recounts her joke from the RNC convention last week; the video then switches to "Barack Obama on: Sarah Palin" that invokes a similar pig quip.

Have a look at the political attack at that fires back at Obama for attacking pok(y):

[UPDATE: YouTube pulled the video due to a "copyright claim by CBS Interactive Inc."  The ad used a photo and a video clip of CBS News anchor Katie Couric. ]

Two wrongs don't make a right, or so the story goes. Both camps were wrong and with each passing day, it seems Americans are getting sick and tired of all the nasty mudslinging.

New polls suggest a 20-point swing in the woman vote toward McCain, from an 8-point swing in favor of Obama after his convention to a 12-point lead in the white woman vote for the McCain-Palin ticket.

...and that's not putting lipstick on a pig.

When is a pig - a pig?

McCain's camp will jump on anything that Obama says and try and spin it in their favor. Newscasters cited how many times McCain has used that phrase and his campaign manager even wrote a book titled "Lipstick on a Pig" which advises politicians how and when to use that phrase. I think it was a big whoha over nothing and that is the tone of McCains camp when it comes to Palin. Let's discuss the real issues at hand and stop this type of crap. smilies/cry.gif
